Interior Designer
Rios Williams Architects (RWA) is seeking an experienced Interior Designer with 5+ years of professional experience to join our Pittsburgh-area practice.
We are looking for a well-rounded designer with solid technical skills who can contribute to interior design projects and develop coordinated Revit construction documents, interior details, finish selections, and specifications. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative and technical sides of interior design and thrives in a collaborative small-firm environment with broad project responsibilities.
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably with an architecture or A/E firm.
Commercial and/or institutional interior design experience preferred.
Strong Revit proficiency with the ability to develop coordinated interior construction documents.
Experience developing projects through SD, DD, Construction Documents, bidding, and Construction Administration.
Experience producing interior elevations, finish plans, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, details, and room/finish schedules.
Working knowledge of interior construction, detailing, finish materials, FF&E, accessibility, and applicable building and life-safety requirements.
Experience with material and finish selection, specifications, and product/system coordination.
Ability to coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty consultants.
Ability to work collaboratively with senior designers, architects, and internal project teams while taking ownership of assigned work.
Comfortable managing responsibilities across multiple projects and participating in client, consultant, and contractor meetings.
Construction Administration experience, including submittals, RFIs, site observations, punch lists, and project closeout.
Software
Revit proficiency required
Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, preferred
Bluebeam experience preferred
Experience with Gatherit, an interior design specification/material management software, is a plus

Education & Certification
A B.A., B.S., or B.F.A. in Interior Design from an accredited program is preferred.
NCIDQ certification is preferred but not required for a candidate with the appropriate professional experience, technical capabilities, and portfolio.
