President

Lizette Rios-Williams, AIA, NCIDQ

Lizette is a registered architect and interior designer with more than three decades of experience creating spaces that seamlessly balance thoughtful logic with compelling aesthetics. In 2005, she founded Rios Williams Architects (RWA) with a clear mission: to design exceptional environments that enhance the human experience. Lizette thrives on collaboration, finding great fulfillment in partnering with clients to tackle complex design challenges and deliver meaningful, lasting outcomes.

Lizette’s passion for design began in childhood, inspired by beloved TV figures - Mike Brady from The Brady Bunch and Mr. Rogers from Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood - which sparked her curiosity about how things are created. After graduating high school in Puerto Rico, she earned her professional Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Pennsylvania State University, where she also met her husband. Lizette built a thriving architectural career in Pittsburgh while raising four children.

Renowned among colleagues and friends as a natural problem solver and people-person, Lizette brings energy, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to every project. She thrives on partnering with clients who share her passion for creating thoughtful, impactful designs that enrich the way people live, work, and interact with their environment.

Lead Interior Designer

Brigitte Dougherty

Brigitte is an accomplished interior designer with a keen eye for aesthetics and a strong ability to create spaces that are both visually compelling and highly functional. She combines creative vision with a solid background in accounting, enabling her to deliver thoughtful, well-crafted designs while maintaining strict adherence to project budgets.

Since joining Rios Williams Architects, Brigitte has contributed to a diverse range of projects across residential, institutional, government, medical, and laboratory sectors. She has worked closely with the firm’s principals on multidisciplinary projects, playing an integral role in guiding each from concept through construction. Her approach ensures design excellence, practicality, and fiscal responsibility at every stage.

Outside the studio, Brigitte enjoys gardening, hiking, practicing yoga, and spending time with her dog, Luna.

Lead Marketing Specialist

Rylie Scheidel-Donohue

Rylie serves as the Marketing Specialist at Rios Williams Architects (RWA), bringing a dynamic background in brand development and strategic marketing to the firm. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports, Arts, and Entertainment Management from Point Park University. Following her graduation, Rylie transitioned into the construction industry, expanding her marketing expertise and ultimately joining RWA to support the firm’s innovative projects and amplify its presence to a wider audience.

Outside of the office, Rylie enjoys exploring the outdoors, discovering new restaurants, traveling, and practicing yoga.
