UPITT Benedum Existing Lab Relocation, Space Planning and Equipment Survey Services
Rios Williams Architects (RWA) provided architectural services for the relocation of twenty existing laboratory spaces within the University of Pittsburgh's Benedum Hall, facilitating forthcoming renovations to the existing facility. The scope of work included comprehensive space planning to optimize the lab's new layout and facilitate efficient workflow. Additionally, RWA conducted a detailed equipment survey to ensure all laboratory assets were properly accounted for and accommodated in the new configuration. Through these efforts, RWA supported the seamless transition of the laboratory to its new location, aligning the space with research needs and university standards.
UPITT Sennott Hall Psychology Lab Interior Renovations
Rios Williams Architects (RWA) developed comprehensive architectural design documents to support the interior renovations of the Psychology Department’s suite on the 3rd floor of Sennott Hall at the University of Pittsburgh. The project scope encompassed the creation of a dedicated laboratory suite tailored for Dr. Inagaki’s research group, the design and fit-out of a flexible laboratory space intended for an incoming faculty member, and the reconfiguration and enhancement of the Psychology department’s advising suite to improve functionality and support for students and faculty. RWA’s approach focused on optimizing each area for its intended use, ensuring that the new and renovated facilities would enhance research capabilities, encourage collaboration, and provide an improved environment for advising and academic engagement.
UPITT Forbes Tower 6th Floor Labs Interior Renovations
Rios Williams Architects (RWA) provided architectural design services for the renovation of two specialized laboratory spaces on the 6th floor of Forbes Tower at the University of Pittsburgh. The project involved the preparation of detailed design documents to support the transformation of these labs, which included the creation of a dedicated Recording Room and two laboratories designed for behavioral research activities. RWA’s approach ensured that each space was tailored to meet the functional requirements of behavioral research, incorporating features to support sound isolation, flexible research setups, and the integration of specialized equipment. The renovations aimed to enhance the research capabilities of the facility and create an environment conducive to advanced behavioral studies, supporting both faculty and student research initiatives.
