Washington Alliance Church Worship Center Modifications and Gymnasium / Classroom Addition
Rios Williams Architects (RWA) was engaged to prepare construction documents for modifications to the existing worship center. The scope included demolition of existing classrooms and reconfiguration of the worship space to relocate classrooms to a more appropriate area, improving separation from worship services. The renovation also introduced an enhanced lobby and entry sequence, a sound-separated corridor, and a mezzanine level to provide additional storage - elevating both daily use and community gatherings.

RWA also completed an architectural study through schematic design for a two-story gymnasium and classroom addition. The proposed addition includes a 20,150 SF gymnasium and a new “front door” arrival and entry element featuring lounge, concessions, and gathering spaces to support the gymnasium. The lower level of the addition adds 14,150 SF of meeting rooms and classrooms to accommodate the growing congregation. The scope also included interior renovations and building upgrades to ensure ADA compliance and support integration of the new multi-story addition with the existing facility. The addition supports a growing congregation while seamlessly integrating with the existing facility. The project embodies accessibility, connection, and a bold architectural presence that reflects the community it serves.
